Warning: Rated R for Smoking

Our country is really going whack. In case you haven’t noticed, movies are now adding “smoking” to the list of reasons for a particular rating. This is utterly inane. So, smoking is now being put in the same ranks as bad language and “scenes of violence.” I can just hear parents saying to their children, “I’m sorry David, but we can’t rent this movie.” “Why not mom?” “Oh, honey, I’ll tell you about it someday. You’re too young to understand.” “Understand what mom?” “Well dear, there are some scenes in this movie that have people smoking. I just don’t want your innocent eyes to see such…such devilry.”

Have we gone mad? Really. Are we absolutely out of our minds? The libs in this country have totally got things upside down. Things that should be outlawed are treated with indifference, and things which are perfectly legal are being treated like crimes. I’m just waiting for the day when movies are rated “R” for “failing to recycle” or some other such nonsense. NEWSFLASH: SMOKING IS NOT A CRIME. YOU MAY NOT LIKE IT OR LIKE IT WHEN PEOPLE DO IT, BUT IT IS NOT A CRIME. STOP TREATING IT AS IF IT WERE!!
